Two kilometres south-west of Qrendi, Ħaġar Qim is a temple dating between the 32nd and 25th centuries BC while Mnajdra is situated in a hollow near the cliffs of Malta's south-eastern coast. It dates to the same era as Ħaġar Qim, and its decorations and carvings are similar. It is among the best preserved archaeological sites in Malta.
