When visiting Malta – FERRETTI BATTERY At Birzebbugia

FERRETTI BATTERY also known as Qajjenza Battery or St. George’s Battery is

an artillery battery in the village of Qajjenza, within the limits of Birzebbuga, in

Malta.

It was built by the Order of Saint John between 1715 and 1716 as one of a

series of coastal fortifications around the coast of the Maltese Islands.

Nowadays a restaurant is there bearing the same name serving Mediterranean

cuisine.
