DRYDOCKING – Container ship MSC ATHOS – 06.03.2018.


The 2013 built MLT flag container ship MSC ATHOS left Valletta (Grand Harbour), Malta from Palumbo Malta Shipyard Dock 6  on Tuesday 6th March 2018 assisted by 3 local tugs LIENI, MARI and SEA SALVOR with 2 pilots aboard while 1 Pilot was assisting the dock master at the Dock for her 5 year survey.

She was built in South Korea by Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering at Tongyoung as Yard Number 4011 with a length overall of 299.95 metres and a beam of 48.34 metres. She has a deadweight of 110,772 tons with a GT of 92,500 tons. TEU Capacity is 8,800 and chartered to MSC while owned and managed by Costamare, Greece.

Her next port of call was Gioia Tauro, Italy after compass adjustment and bunker services at Malta.
