World’s Second Largest Crane Vessel at Malta Roads – SAIPEM 7000

SAIPEM 7000 is the world’s second largest crane vessel after the Heerema Marine Contractors owned THIALF. The crane radius of the Saipem 7000 grants a lifting capability of 14,000 tonnes at 42 meters while the Thialf can lift 14,200 tonnes at 31.2 meters. It is owned by the oil and gas industry contractor Saipem S.p.A, Italy.

She flies the Bahamas (BHS) flag with her port of registry as Nassau and she’s the formerly MICOPERI 7000.

Below Aerial Photos are of SAIPEM 7000 off Marsaxlokk Harbour, Malta last Friday 15th September, 2017 for a crew change of around 70/75 personnel and cargo operations.
