On Friday 24th July, 2015 the Norwegian built tug IONION PELAGOS towing the 224.07 metre bulker ADAMASTOS was photographed from the air by MALTA SHIP PHOTOS (MSPAP) underway to Aliaga, Turkey from Cadiz, Spain to be broken up.

The 224.07 metre bulker ADAMASTOS was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) at Ulsan South Korea in 1995 as MILTIADIS trading until July 2004; SALMAS until November 2007; BERTRAM until July 2008 and V ROD until December 2012 where she was renamed as ADAMASTOS.

And finally the tug IONION PELAGOS was built in Norway by Hatlo Verksted at Ulsteinvik in 1977 as BISCAY SKY with yard no 148 and ship design as UT 505 trading for 2 years including chartered to Bureau Wijsmuller until 1979, sold and acquired by Black Sea Shipping Co (BLASCO) of Odessa, Russia and renamed ZUBR. In 1992 she was part of Blascospetsflot of Odessa, Ukraine and in 1996 she was sold to SATCO, Russia trading until December 1998. Sold again and acquired by Rimorchiatori Sardi SpA and renamed as MASCALZONE OCEANICO trading until July 2009.
Sold to Megalohari Salvage & Towage and renamed as IONION PELAGOS.
