On Tuesday 22nd December around 1315 hrs the cruise liner MEIN SCHIFF 5 which currently is anchored 18 miles North East of Luqa Airport requested a helicopter for Medical Evacuation after the chief engineer hit his head and was unconscious.
Arrangements were done and the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) AgustaWestland AW139M helicopter serial AS1630 with callsign as RESCUE 30 and 6 crew was deployed to the ship. It lift off from Park 7 at 1354 hrs
At 1404 hrs helicopter was in MEIN SCHIFF 5 anchorage position –
At 1437 hrs helicopter was back to Park 7 where an awaiting ambulance took the Greek national to Mater Dei Hospital –
