The steel single screw tugboat KERVEROS was seen at the breakers at Aliaga, Turkey during the last quarter of 2018.
She was built in 1964 by F Schichau GmbH at Bremerhaven as Yard No 1729 for Bugsier Reederei und Bergungs AG, Hamburg as a Salvage Tug named HEROS (3). She was delivered on the 30th October 1964 and stationed at Dover, UK.
She was sold in 1979 to Arne Avelin Bogserbats A/B, Stockholm and renamed WIROS.
After changing ownership again 3 times bearing her name as CARIBBEAN WIND, POLARIS and SCAN SALVOR she was named to her current one during 1988.
In fact she was seen in Malta wearing Zouros Shipping Co colours on the 6th June 2008 entering Valletta during Blue Fin Tuna (BFT) Season towing tuna cages to take stores/bunkers supplies.
And back to 10 years later in April/May 2018 involved in the towage of the 1984 built deck cargo pontoon AMT EXPLORER.
