On Tuesday 22nd September 2015 the 1983 built seismic vessel KONDOR EXPLORER arrived at Scheepssloperij Nederland BV in Gravendeel to be demolished.

She was built in China by Hudyong Shipyard at Shanghai in 1983 as yard number 141 as tugboat SSS SHANGHAI to Selco (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Singapore,  managed by Sentinel Supply Ships Pte. Ltd., Singapore.

Her gross tonnage was 1,252 tons while her deadweight was 1,163 tons.

In 1987 she was to sold to Black Sea Shipping Co., Odessa, USSR and renamed KONDOR.

In 1993 she was sold to Blascospetsflot, Odessa, Russia, for 3 years in charter at Wijsmuller Salvage BV.

In 1995 she was sold to State Enterprise Odessa,Russia and managed by Marine Rescue Service “Se Mars”, Odessa.

In 1996 she was sold to SATCO (Upravlenie Buksirno-Spatsatelnogo Specialisirovanogo Flota), Odessa,Russia.

In 1997 she was sold to Arna Shipping Ltd., Limassol and managed by Seabird Management A / S, Oslo renaming her KONDOR EXPLORER of which she was converted into research vessel

Her gross tonnage was 6,242 tons while her deadweight was 10,178 tons.

During 2006 she was sold to GeoBird Middle East Management FZ-LLC, Dubai with home port as Limassol (CYP Flag)

In 2007 she was sold to Seabird Exploration FZ LLO, Dubai with home port as Limassol (CYP Flag).

During 2010 she was detained at Delfzijl, Netherlands and during May 2015 she was renamed KONDOR with UKR flag
