On Friday 20th August, 2021 Solstad Rederi AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Solstad Offshore ASA, has sold the anchor handling tug/supply (AHTS) SEA PANTHER for Recycling.
The company did not say where exactly the SEA PANTHER would be recycled. She was previously owned by Deep Sea Supply, a company that in 2017 merged with Solstad and Farstad. According to the website VesselsValue that provides value estimates for various types of vessels, had the SEA PANTHER valued at $2 million (demolition value) on August 19th.
She was built in Norway by Loland Verft at Leirvik I Sogn in 1999 as the Type KMAR 404 ahts MAERSK DETECTOR with yard number 279 trading until 2004, then she was renamed as BILLY JOE RAMEY for Tidewater Marine Services Inc, USA and in 2005 she was renamed as SEA PANTHER for Deep Sea Supply (DSS).
