One of the French built liners, the 1984 built liner MARELLA CELEBRATION left Eleusis, Greece on 14th September, 2022 as MARE bound to Aliaga, Turkey for breakers towed by the 2008 built tug VERNICOS SIFNOS.

Berthed at Valletta Cruise Port back to 21st August, 2018.

She was built in 1984 by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, France as yard number X27 for Holland America Line (HAL) as NOORDAM at a cost of $160 million and became the third HAL vessel  to bear the name .In 2005, she became the UK-based Thomson Cruises THOMSON CELEBRATION and, in 2017, in a change of branding to TUI-UK’s Marella Cruises, she was renamed as MARELLA CELEBRATION.

On 29th April 2020, Marella announced that the ship would be retired from the fleet and sold for scrap and last month she left her laid up mooring at Greece and started her last voyage bound to breakers renamed as MARE.
