An interesting Bulgarian built bulker, the QUEEN SARA was spotted inside the Grand Harbour, Malta both on Wednesday 4th and Saturday 7th May, 2022 berthed at Magazine Wharf, part of Valletta Gateway Terminals (VGT).

She was built in Bulgaria by Varna Shipyard AD, in Varna for the Bulgarian National Line – Navigation Maritime Bulgare (Navibulgar or NMB) in 1998 with yard number 713 as PERELIK, a KOM Class Bulker trading until April 2018 where she was sold and renamed with her current name as QUEEN SARA homeported at Freetown with Sierra Leone Flag (SLE).

PERSENK another Bulgarian owned Kom Class bulker leaving Valletta back to June 2006 after she discharged her Bulk Cargo at Kordin Grain Terminal (KGT).

Once she entered Valletta on Wednesday 4th May at 0653 hrs coming from Greece ,the bulker QUEEN SARA started discharging and uplifting bunkers from Valletta Bunkers tanker BALLUTA BAY as seen below –

She has a length overall of 142.14 metres with a beam of 22.26 metres and maximum draught of 8.20 metres. Her deadweight (DWT) is 56,956 tons.

She left Valletta on Saturday 7th May at 1721 hrs bound to Torre Annunziata, Italy.
