The first large vessel to use the latest Kordin Grain Terminal (KGT) conveyor was the Chinese owned 177.85m Open Hatch Box Type bulk carrier CORN.
She was built in Japan by Saiki Heavy Industries at Saiki as the SGP flag bulker FURNESS PORTLAND trading until June 2021 where she was sold and renamed to ELPINIKI with PAN flag and was sold again a year later and renamed with her current name since July 2022 while reflagged to Liberia (LBR) , homeported at Monrovia.
Her ship classification society is Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, known as ClassNK or NK with radio callsign as 5LGH8.
She’s 177.85 m long (loa) with 28.60 m beam with a deadweight (DWT) of 37,045 ts.
She has 5 holds, double hull vessel with McGregor end folding type hatch covers with mechanical ventilation with IMO Classes 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 8 (solids) and 9 (Fish Meal)
She has also 4 electro-Hydraulic driven, single deck cranes.
She has 1 engine with an output of 7,050 kW and no bow thruster.
