Abis Shipping was founded on October 1st 2007 in the Netherlands. At the outset, Abis Shipping set a five year target to have more than 10 ships in service for short sea shipping, project cargos and river shipping. Due to the knowledge and experience of the Abis staff and input from local partners Abis Shipping has succeeded in reaching this target.

Unfortunately in 2016 the Dutch owner declared bankruptcy and banks have moved to auction off part of the fleet. Lenders including Rabobank have seized 12 of its 21 heavy-lift/multipurpose vessels of which they went under the hammer, through online auctioneer BVA.

4 ships part of the fleet were brought to Malta and all docked at Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd including the MPP vessel INDIAN DAWN.

In fact she entered on a rainy Thursday 29th December, 2016 assisted by local tugboat LIENI.

She proceeded to Parlatorio Wharf South.

After she was sold she was renamed as EEMSLIFT ELLEN of which she was seen at Malta few months later loaded with yachts as Deck Cargo.
