On Monday 10th June, 2024 the Russian Navy Udaloy Class Destroyer RFS ADMIRAL LEVCHENKO was reported that she caught fire in the Barents Sea. She is assigned to the Russian Northern Fleet (RNF) and lately this month she was part of naval drills also involving nuclear submarines.
With a compliment of 249 souls , reports were coming in as she had a an engine fire with 1 of them disabled and fire spread with the claim of STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL.
She was commissioned by the Soviet Navy on 30th September, 1988 with home port as Severomorsk on the eastern shore of Kola Bay in the Barents Sea and named after Admiral Gordey Levchenko.
