Guardia Costiera equipped with Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) are being used, with both Vigili Del Fuoco (VVF) and Guardia Di Finanza (GDF)naval units and cave divers also taking part in the search for the last missing person of which Capitano Di Fregata Vincenzo Zagarola of Guardia Costiera stated that they believe that the woman is still inside the wreckage.
The body of her father Mike Lynch, was found last Wednesday but recovered yesterday while his wife Angela Bacares survived.
Search & Rescue (SAR) Diving Operation started early this morning since sunrise with VVF AW 139 Helicopter too.
Also joining them was a Guardia Costiera AW 139 Helicopter MM81897/11-09 patrolling the coast close to shore –
The British inspectors from the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) have said its too early to comment on their probe as a BLAME GAME has already started.
Whether the keel was up or down would have a serious impact on the stability of the vessel.
Capitano Di Fregata Vincenzo Zagarola of Guardia Costiera compared the sunken superyacht to an “18-storey building full of water” and the search for British tycoon Mike Lynch’s daughter Hannah has not been “easy or quick”.
Also to rise the yacht from the seabed wasn’t on the agenda for the time being.
Around midday the body of the final missing person was found by the divers. The only person that was unaccounted for was Hannah Lynch, the 18yo daughter of British tycoon Mike Lynch.
Several boats carrying divers left Porticello shortly after midday heading to the site of the sunk superyacht.
Around 1300 hrs a green body bag was brought ashore from the site of the sunken yacht.
Guardia Costiera confirmed that the sixth and final missing person had been found and brought ashore from the sunken BAYESIAN on Friday.
Later on she was transferred to an ambulance escorted by Carabinieri to a Palermo Hospital for formal identification and post-mortems.
Prosecutors in Termini Imerese are scheduled to hold a press conference tomorrow morning.
Investigators from the local public prosecutor’s office are gathering evidence for a potential criminal investigation into the disaster.
All that remains now is to pay RESPECT for the Victim Families in this Horrible Tragic Accident.
