On Tuesday 25th August, 2020 the Guardia Costiera Italiana (Italian Coast Guard) responded to a yacht fire 50 miles from the Costa Smeralda while sailing from Capri to Porto Cervo, Sardinia.

The Olbia Coast Guard ( Capitaneria di Porto Guardia Costiera Comando DIREZIOMARE Olbia) picked up the first distress call from the yacht around 0600 hrs and dispatched two patrol boats including CP 894 and a AW-139 Helicopter to aid the yacht. Few hours later all 17 souls (nine crew members and eight guests from Kazakhstan) who were on board the yacht were found floating in a life raft and were picked up by the responding coast guard boat and helicopter crews. No injuries have been reported.

LADY MM was built in 2003 by ISA (International Shipyard Ancona) Yachts, Italy a popular ISA 470 series as APRIL FOOL. In 2006 she changed hands when the original owner took delivery of his 61 metre Feadship built superyacht by the same name .

The coast guard launched an investigation to identify the cause of the fire on the yacht, which sank later in the day.
