An interesting cement carrier that calls at Grand Harbour, Malta is the 1979 built vessel GOLDEN BAY.

She was built in Scotland by Robb Caledon Dundee at Dundee as yard no 572 bearing the name of GOLDEN BAY homeported in Auckland and flagged in New Zealand (NZL) with call sign as ZMGB.

Early in her career she was also employed on the NZ – Australia run carrying cement to Brisbane. Various owners in New Zealand were Golden Bay Cement and in 2007 she was owned by Fletcher Concrete.

Above images are on Saturday 23rd May, 2020.

Since 2017 she owned by a German Company and also seen her in January 2018 discharging cement at Fuel Wharf of which she was still bearing the old yellow funnel colours.

Images at Fuel Wharf are back to 20th January, 2018
