We inform our customers that the operational situation in Oran, Alger and Bejaia, Algeria has been deteriorating for the past few weeks with no positive perspective in the weeks to come and we are experiencing huge delays in this port between congestion/waiting time plus berth time on the current vessels berthing sequences with following impacts:
laden cargo lead-time is being increased
empty equipment re-loading / repositioning frequency is affected
operating costs are drastically increased
In this respect, please be informed that CMA CGM will implement the Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) for these 3 ports as follows:
From: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Middle East Gulf & Red Sea
To: Oran, Alger & Bejaia, Algeria
Cargo: Dry, OOG, Hazardous, Reefer & Specials
Applicable from July 15th, 2023 (gate-in date)
Amount: USD 150 per TEU
Settlement: Prepaid
Any revision in the quantum of this surcharge related to the evolution of the local situation will be communicated with a 7-day notice.
