The world’s largest container ship the HMM ALGECIRAS left Yantian, China carrying a record 19,621 TEUs on Sunday 10th May, 2020. She made a call at Busan Port on 28th April loading 7,156 TEU and left on 30th April.

She can load up to 24,000 units of 6 meter long (one TEU) container boxes. Currently on her maiden voyage, she’s the first of twelve 24,000 TEU class container ships under construction for HMM. The vessel is 399.9 meters long by 61 meters wide and has a nominal TEU capacity of 23,964, earning it the title of the world’s largest container ship.
