The 1991 built liner RCGS RESOLUTE will be sold at an auction in Curacao on 22nd June. Following the demise of One Ocean Expeditions, the ship was arrested in Buenos Aires late last year. Currently she’s berthed at Willemstad, Curacao.

The shipowner, Bunnys Adventure and Cruise Shipping Company Limited, eventually paid to have the ship released. More trouble followed this year after the ship was involved in an incident with an Venezuelan naval vessel GC 23 NAIGUATA on the way back to Europe on 30th March, 2020 of which has a minor damage too.

Under management from Columbia Cruise Services, the liner has been docked in Curacao ever since, with a skeleton crew aboard. According to court documents the shipowner is responsible for debts of just under $4 million.

She was built in Finland and originally named SOCIETY ADVENTURER but after Discoverer Reederei was unable to take delivery of the vessel due to financial troubles, the completed ship was laid up at the shipyard for almost two years. In 1993 Dirk Moldenhauer, the captain of the last German Atlantic Line ship in service, acquired the rights to the Hamburg/German Atlantic Line logo and established Hanseatic Tours and renamed her HANSEATIC of which was also seen in Malta.

In 1997 Hapag-Lloyd acquired Hanseatic Tours, and their operations were merged to those of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. The last Hanseatic Tours vessel HANSEATIC has retained the Hanseatic Tours livery in Hapag-Lloyd service until 2011. In 2018, she was chartered to One Ocean Expeditions and given her current name.

HANSEATIC berthed at Viset (Now Valletta Cruise Port) at Pinto 1 Wharf back in 1996.
