MARELLA CRUISES will resume service from Thursday 27th August, should it be safe to sail as a result of the global Pandemic disease coronavirus and the uncertainty about when international travel will resume. The cruise line also confirmed MARELLA DISCOVERY will no longer sail the summer season with all itineraries from Palma cancelled up to 31st October 2020. In addition, the Electric Sunset cruise on MARELLA EXPLORER 2 sailing from Newcastle on 5th September 2020 will also no longer go ahead.

Marella had hoped that the 3 ships – MARELLA EXPLORER; MARELLA EXPLORER 2 and MARELLA DISCOVERY would resume service in July 2020 in a phased return of operations. The cruise line is also extending its free amends policy so customers sailing in September and October on MARELLA EXPLORER or MARELLA EXPLORER 2 will have the opportunity to amend their cruise for free before 31st July, meaning they don’t have to pay until closer to their new departure date.
One of the longest standing and most loved ships in the Marella Cruises fleet, MARELLA CELEBRATION is to retire earlier than planned due to the impact of COVID-19 of which in fact she’s sailing without TUI Emblem on her funnel and currently heading to Greece from OTW Malta of which she left yesterday Saturday 4th July, 202.

MARELLA DREAM which has been with the fleet since 2010 also sailed from OTW Malta yesterday Saturday 4th July 2020 and currently underway to Greece.

Another cruise liner that was anchored OTW Malta , the MARELLA DISCOVERY 2 is currently berthed at Dubrovnik, Croatia. She’s been with the fleet since 2017. She’s originally the former Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (RCCL) LEGEND OF THE SEAS of which she was renamed to TUI DISCOVERY and then to her current name.
