Carnival Corporation subsidiary P&O Cruises has sold the liner OCEANA which is one of the oldest ships in the fleet. Buyer was not disclosed and she’s scheduled to leave the fleet during this month.
The company decided to sell the ship due to the ongoing global COVID-19 Pandemic disease, which has suspended cruise ship sailings around the world due to health and travel restrictions. Currently, all cruise ship sailings offered by P&O Cruises are suspended until mid October.
She was built in 2000 by Fincantieri Monfalcone, Italy as OCEAN PRINCESS making her the eighth new Princess ship in 10 years trading until October 2002 with 2,016 passenger capacity.
She used to call at Valletta Cruise Port for turnarounds on Thursdays from 0500-2200 hrs.
P&O Cruises are represented in Malta by Malta Cruise Services, a division of Mifsud Brothers Ltd – www.mbl.com.mt
And she use to berth at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves at Valletta Cruise Port.
