On Thursday 10th November, 2022 the 2022 built EcoBulk Carrier MISJE VITA entered Grand Harbour, Malta during her delivery voyage from the builders. In fact she passed breakwaters at 1824 hrs.

She was built in Sri Lanka by Colombo Dockyard (Pte) Ltd as hull no 250 for Misje Rederi A/S, Norway of which will be first ship from a class 6 EcoBulk hybrid vessels with a cargo capacity of 5000 mts which was ordered 2 years ago. Each vessel is powered by a four-stroke diesel engine with an electric hybrid system supplying additional power through a battery system. The concept and the basic design of the 90 m long ships were developed by Wartsila Ship Design Norway AS. According to Wärtsilä, the fully integrated hybrid solution enables the vessels to sail in and out of port, and to perform cargo operations, completely emissions-free. in fact the ships are designed to be converted to full zero-emissions operation as the technology develops.

Once she was secured port side alongside Pinto 3 Wharf, part of Valletta Cruise Port customs pratique was done and interesting to see was the gangway procedure of which the crane was part of the traveller.

Then she started uplifting bunkers receiving 61 metric tons of diesel oil via road tankers from Cassar Fuels; 14 metric tons of fresh water from Vincent Desira Water Transport; Sludge and Waist Service; Stores & Provisions.

She left Valletta at 2308 hrs bound to Scheveningen, The Netherlands
