On Friday 7th January at 1652 hrs the 2021 built new Ropax AURA SEAWAYS entered Grand Harbour, Malta on a rainy day coming from her Chinese builders underway to Scandinavia berthing at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves part of Valletta Cruise Port.

She is the first in a series of two new ro/ro passenger ferry (Ropax) built in Guangzhou, China for DFDS. With 230 metres length and 32 metres beam she has a total of 250 cabins that can accommodate 600 passengers with 62 crew members. With 4,500 lane meters, she became Danish DFDS’s (Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab) largest RoPax Ferry in terms of cargo capacity, with a deadweight of around 12,750 tons. Compared to other ferries, she does not have reclining seat area, there are conditions for everyone to stay in cabins, and there are separate areas for lorry drivers and leisure passengers.

On Saturday 8th January, she was spotted uplifting bunkers by the tanker SCOT MUNCHEN

She left China on Monday 20th December, 2021 at 0201 hrs arriving at Singapore on Thursday 23rd at 2330 hrs, leaving the following day at 1513 hrs bound to Suez Canal arriving on Tuesday 4th January, 2022 at 1712 hrs and leaving the anchorage to start transiting on Wednesday 5th January at 0111 hrs.

She left Valletta on Sunday 9th January at 1208 hrs bound to Karlshamn, Sweden to arrive tomorrow Sunday 16th January at 0630 hrs.
