On Tuesday 16th March, 2021 the 2021 newbuilt sisters trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHD) MAKRAN 1 and MAKRAN 2 started their delivery voyage from Schiedam, Netherlands towards Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. Both were built by ADA Shipyard at Tuzla, Turkey for IHC Shipyard and then towed to the Netherlands for completion and refitting based on the modular design of IHC Beagle Series with 4,000 m³ as capacity.

On Monday 30th March around 0800 hrs MAKRAN 1 homeported in Kingstown (VCT Flag) anchored offshore Malta awaiting orders especially her turn to transit the Suez Canal.

She left the anchorage completing her voyage on Friday 2nd April bound to Suez.

MAKRAN 2 dropped anchors few minutes later than her sister , same day.
