The Hellenic Coast Guard intercepted and seized on December 5th a Syrian flagged vessel carrying drugs worth approximately US$113 million.

About six tonnes of cannabis and three million amphetamine pills were discovered on board the Dutch built vessel NOKA bearing IMO number 7703015 which was sailing towards Libya when she was seized.

The drugs were found to have been deliberately hidden among the vessel’s other cargo, which included coffee, spices, and wood shavings.

The vessel and its contents have been impounded by Greek authorities while the crew have been arrested and appeared before a public prosecutor on Saturday, December 15.

She was built as the SLYVIA OMEGA trading from 1978 until 1985, built by Tille Scheepsbouw at Kootstertille in Netherlands.
