Today, Sunday 19th April, 2020 a Malta International Airport Fire Crash Vehicle overturned while being dispatched to a reported smoke near Park 4.

The incident happened around 1615 hrs when the Rosenbauer Panther 6×6 Crash Vehicle overturned inside the airport perimeter. Close to Park 1 for unknown reasons the crash vehicle overturned and two fire fighters from Msida and St Julian’s suffered slight injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

The Malta International Airport Fire & Rescue Services operates 3 Rosenbauer Panther 6×6 Crash Vehicles – Crash 3 (replacing MIA-022 Baribbi Tucano crash tender); Crash 4 (replacing MIA-023 Baribbi Tucano crash tender) and Crash 5 and been in service since early 2000’s.

An internal inquiry has been launched and wish speedy recovery for the fire crew.
