One of the Dover – Ostend route ferry, the PRINCESS MARIE CHRISTINE was scrapped in December 2011 and was seen as ELEGANT I.

She was launched by Belliard Hoboken as the PRINCESSE MARIE CHRISTINE in 1975 as yard no 878  for Regie voor Maritiem Transport (RMT), Belgium on their  Ostend  to Dover  route. In 1987 she was repainted in the colours of Townsend Thoresen following an agreement between them and Regie voor Maritiem Transport. In 1993 Regie voor Maritiem Transport ended their agreement with P&O (who had succeeded Townsend Thoresen) and entered into an agreement with Sally Line, transferring her to the Ramsgate Ostend route. In 1998 she was bought by Denval Marine Consultants and renamed PRIMROSE for the Transeuropa Ferries (Slovenia) Ostend to Ramsgate route.

During April 2010 she was sold To FINSEA s.p.a (Italy), chartered To BL di Navigazione s.r.l., running on Piombino – Portoferraio route and renamed ELEGANT I. She continued until the spring of 2011 when she made her last trip to Indian breakers. In fact all images are back to 17th March 2011.
