One of the famous United States Coast Guard 47 Foot lifeboat MLB 47201 was stationed in Malta for some time. She arrived at Malta in June 2011 after being ferried from Italy to Malta with her name as NO NAME homeported in New York, USA.
She was built in 1992 by Textron Marine Systems in New Orleans, USA as the United States Coast Guard prototype MLB 47201 and she was stationed at the USCG Training Center Cape May. On the morning of Saturday 6th May 2000 she rescued 7 souls from the sinking fishing vessel LITTLE FLY FISHERMAN after she striked the Herbert C. Bonner Bridge in North Carolina with a 82 year old man suffering from exhaustion and hypothermia with her Commanding Officer BM3 Michael Carola was honored Coast Guard Person of the Year with his heroism. In 1998 she was sold to US Customs. In 2011 she was sold again and travelled from USA to Europe as a deck cargo from where she was ferried to Malta.

Later on while she was moored at Kalkara Marina she was renamed as MSAR 47201 for MSAR Ltd which is privately owned subsidiary of the Oxbridge Group.
Later on she was used by GK STORMFORCE Ltd, Malta for conveyance services including Crew Change, Surveyors Embarking/Disembarking etc with Official Number as 13677 while homeported at Valletta.
