Following the 2023 Yom Kippur attack by Hamas on Southern Israel on Saturday 7th October around 1,300 souls arrived in Larnaca, Cyprus, on Friday 13th October from Haifa, Israel, on board the cruise ship CROWN IRIS.
The passengers were able to fly home on planes from Larnaca Airport if they desired mostly German citizens wanting to leave Israel amid the escalating violence.
The Republic of Cyprus, which is part of the European Union, made its airports and ports available on Tuesday 10th October to help people desiring to leave the region.
According to Cypriot radio, the CROWN IRIS was not only bringing people from Israel to Cyprus BUT will travel back to Haifa with around 150 Israelis who want to return to their homeland.
