One of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s Vessel – HANDALA calling all VTS worldwide as NAVAREN including on her AIS System called at Malta  on Tuesday 13th August passing breakwaters at 1104 hrs.

Built in 1968 at Hemnesberget, Norway as the 18 metre Norwegian fishing vessel NAVARN with radio call sign as LATQ she was acquired earlier this year during Q2.

Coming from Messina, Sicily which she called last Friday 9th August

And before that she was inside at Ajaccio, France –

The ship’s name above her wheelhouse is of HANDALA that is a prominent national symbol and personification of the Palestinian people.

Upon her arrival at Grand Harbour she was berthed at Coal Wharf with the NGO Moviment Graffitti and the Embassy of Palestine in Malta held a press conference that underscored the vessel’s critical role in drawing global attention to the Gaza blockade.

She left Valletta on Thursday 22nd August, 2024 passing breakwaters at 1249 hrs and unlike reports of going to sail towards Gaza as part of their ongoing effort to challenge the illegal and inhumane blockade over the Palestinian people SHE never made it but instead she entered Porto Xiphonio, Augusta Sicily –

And at the time of writing she’s still berthed there.
