The Port of Haifa  is the largest of Israel’s three major international seaports, the others being the Port of Ashdod, and the Port of Eilat. It has a natural deep water harbor, which operates all year long, and serves both passenger and merchant ships. It is one of the largest ports in the eastern Mediterranean in terms of freight volume and handles about 30 million tons of cargo per year (not including Israel Shipyards’ port).

Here is some of interesting shipping movements –

4th March – 2018 built 353 metre mother ship MAERSK HANOI arrived at Haifa from Port Said on her way to Koper, Slovenia.

5th March – The 2018 built heavy lift vessel UHL FUSION departed Haifa bound to anchorage off Port joining around 28 ships anchored awaiting orders.

7th March – The Hellenic Navy Hydra Class (MEKO 200) Frigate HS HYDRA F 542 paid a short visit of few hours.

12th March – 2019 built 353 metre mother ship MAERSK HOUSTON left Haifa on her way to Koper, Slovenia.

14th March – The 2018 built heavy lift vessel UHL FUSION entered Kishon area from Haifa anchorage.

25th March – 2006 built 283 metre container ship MSC GENEVA arrived at Haifa from Ashdod.

26th March – First departure movement at 0631 hrs was the 2016 built offshore tug/supply ship VOS PRINCE for offshore work offshore Askelon, Israel.

Later on the 2017 built 353 metre mother ship MAERSK HORSBURGH arrived from Port Said and dropped anchors.

28th March – Interesting to see 3 Maersk vessels with MAERSK NORFOLK arriving from Mersin, Turkey while ANTWERP and MAERSK HORSBURGH were still awaiting their turn.

Later on the 2007 built Hamburg-Sud container ship SAN ALVARO left Harbour.
