The Port of Haifa is the largest of Israel’s three major international seaports, the others being the Port of Ashdod, and the Port of Eilat. It has a natural deep water harbor, which operates all year long, and serves both passenger and merchant ships. It is one of the largest ports in the eastern Mediterranean in terms of freight volume and handles about 30 million tons of cargo per year (not including Israel Shipyards’ port).
Here are some of the interesting shipping movements for the month of May, 2022 –
6th May – The 105 metre long feeder ship AIPP GOLD built in 2000 left Haifa bound to Damietta, Egypt.
Later on the 147 metres long feeder ship CONTSHIP DON built in 2006 left Haifa bound to Fos Sur Mer, France.
9th May – The 2008 built BHS flag research vessel OCEAN INVINCIBLE left Haifa bound to Port Said Survey Area.
12th May – 4 cruise liners – NORWEGIAN JADE, SIRENA, MSC LIRICA and CROWN IRIS were inside the port.
Another Salamis Lines ro/ro vessel , the 157 metres long VASSILIOS built in 1990 left port bound to Limassol, Cyprus.
13th May – The 2003 built cruise liner OOSTERDAM entered.
21st May – The 2016 built cruise liner SEABOURN ENCORE entered for the third time since she was delivered. Her Previous visits were back to 2019 and 2016.
24th May – The 2004 built MLT flag chemical/oil products tanker HOPE A left port in ballast condition.
28th May – The 2021 built BHS flag 348 metre long cruise liner ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS entered port for a 5 days visit. Her previous visit goes back to May 2021.
