Last Tuesday 8th October, 2024 the 2001 Norwegian built High Speed Craft (HSC)  SAN GIORGIO ordered Harbour Pilot and Mooring Services for 0745 hrs to leave her berth at Gun Wharf, part of Valletta Cruise Port (VCP) bound to Marina Di Ragusa.

Built by Kvaerner Fjellstrand AS at Omastrand, Norway in 2001, a Flying Cat 50 design for Virtu Ferries, Malta named SAN GWANN with passenger capacity of 427 souls and 20 cars.

She was brought to Malta via a semi submersible heavy load carrier and lifted on her hard at Malta Mediterranean Hub (MMH) to do repairs, upgrading the class etc after  before acquired from the German shipping company FRS she ran aground on the islet of Es Malvins Pla , Ibiza on Saturday 28th August, 2021 evening when she was en route from Ibiza to Formentera.

She passed breakwaters at 0818 hrs and entered Marina Di Ragusa, Sicily around 1000 hrs.
