137 illegal immigrants rescued in Italian Territorial Waters by Guardia Costiera and Guardia Di Finanza Bigliani Class G126 SALVATORE DE ROSA entered Lampedusa on Wednesday 20th May.
Disembarkation was done at Favarolo di Lampedusa quay with total – 77 men; 57 women and 6 minors from Totale 138 – 54 donne, 78 uomini, 6 minori – Tunisia, Cote D’ Ivoire; Congo, Gambia, Guinea and Central Africa. They joined other 116 persons which landed almost 2 weeks ago and since then placed under quarantine.
Meanwhile container ship MAREN was coordinated by RCC Malta for another boat with 60 souls onboard.
On Thursday 21st May at 1755 hrs the Italian Air Force ATR P 72-212A MPA with aircraft registration as MM62298 with call sign as IAM 4103 landed at NAS Sigonella after 6 hours 12 minutes duration.
