The latest acquisition for the non-governmental organization (NGO) SEA WATCH 69 metre ship SEA WATCH 4 started her first mission last Saturday 15th August from Spain after 5 months at a shipyard in Burriana.

The Europe wide restrictions due to the Pandemic Disease COVID-19 had unfortunately delayed the departure since it was planned for April. Nevertheless the shipyard personnel were able to convert the former research vessel POSEIDON into the rescue ship SEA-WATCH 4.

POSEIDON was built in 1976 in Germany by SSW Schichau Seebeck Shipyard at Bremerhaven for the German Government with 1,105 GRT and homeported in Kiel, Germany (DEU).

Entering Grand Harbour back to November 2007.

Berthed at Pinto 3 Wharf of VISET (Now Valletta Cruise Port).
