Interesting converted livestock ship is the vessel ELBEIK. Built in 1967 by Giessen de Noord yard at Krimpen in Netherlands as the reefer cargo ship TYRO which also had 2 palletized ramps on both port and starboard side and 2 cargo cranes ( 1 ho/3 ha/3 tweendecks).

At one time she was chartered for many years by NIOZ (Netherlands Institute for Sea Research) as research vessel on the island of Texel.

As TYRO she traded until 1994 where she was renamed JIHAD II until June 2003. Renamed ABDULRAZAK for only one month – July 2003 and renamed AL MAHMOUD 4 trading until March 2010. Flying Honduras flag (HND) she was trading as ALJAGHBEIR I until 1st August 2013 and renamed DELTA 1 with Tanzania flag (TZA) and finally to ELBEIK on 1st December 2017 with Togo flag (TGO).
