One of the few self propelled barges that used to be seen at Valletta, Malta was the BULLET ONE.
Built in 1984 at Arsenale Venice, Italy with a length of 31 metres, beam of 8 metres and maximum draught of 2 metres she had 125 GRT. She had bow ramps together with 2 Spud Legs. Machinery was 1 x Fiat Diesel OM828/M engine with output of 275.74 HP and maximum speed was 8 knots.
Her homeport was Panama with Panama Flag (PAN) and registration number was 46841-PEXT. At one time she was registered at Malta with the official number as 17691 with 4 crew.
She was used for various reasons including with the fireworks Festival and back in 2017 where the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) organised a clean up campaign at Comino. A fleet of trucks were used to carry out the cleaning up process as a move to improve the island’s natural environment. The work was carried out by ERA in cooperation with PARKS against a background of actions and enforcement to remove bulky waste from various zones which had been accumulating for years, a result of intensive cleansing and removal of waste which in recent years has been illegally dumped on the small island as well as taking action to protect the sand dunes in Santa Marija Bay.
