One of the former Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeboats operating in the Maltese Islands is MONTE ROSA. She was brought in Malta as a deck cargo aboard the MPP ship AQUILA J which berthed starboard side alongside at Pinto 4 wharf, part of Valletta Cruise Port.

She was built in 1980 by W.A. Souter & Son at Cowes, UK as the Arun Class Lifeboat EDITH EMILIE with official number as 1062 and RNLI designation number 52-14. She served with the RNLI till 1999 where she was sold to Montrose Port Authority, Scotland serving as a Pilot boat and renamed MARE ROSA as seen below on the 23rd September, 2012.

After serving Montrose Port Authority she was put up for sale and brought to Malta after being bought locally. Around 0930 hrs discharging of the boat to the Maltese waters started.

Around 45 minutes later she was under her own power at Grand Harbour, Malta.

Below are images of MARE ROSA anchored off Mgarr Harbour, Gozo back to 22nd July, 2017.
