Within a space of 3 hours, the second maiden call at Grand Harbour, Malta happened with the 2000 built cable layer CS RECORDER that passed breakwaters at 1014 hrs coming from Civitavecchia, Italy.

She was built at the German Shipyard – Ps Werften Stralsund as MAERSK RECORDER with yard number 430,  one of the famous DP 2 R Class ….Below image is of MAERSK RESPONDER leaving Malta back to 2008.

She’s 105.5 m long (loa) with 20 m beam and one could easily spot some light blue markings of her former Maersk Livery.

In 2017 she was acquired by Global Marine Systems and renamed her as CS RECORDER which had previously been chartered by Global Marine for numerous cable installation projects. The company intends to use the vessel to support telecoms installation business.

Aboard she had an ATLAS 3, state of the art ROV designed for both cable maintenance, post lay and inspection roles.

Her purpose of call was crew change but in my opinion due to the coming weather, she will be sheltering, safe at her berth at MMH Facilities.

Her shipping agent in Malta by SMS Shipping is –  www.sms.com.mt that share a SPONSOR Package too.
