On Wednesday 19th April, 2023 at 0638 hrs the 2022 built World Class ship MSC WORLD EUROPA entered Grand Harbour, Malta during her maiden call starting the Malta to Malta 7 Nights Cruise till October 2023.
She was built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France with keel laid on 29th June 2020, launched on 2nd December 2021 and delivered on 24th October 2022. But she started her service on 20th December, 2022.
In November 2019, Qatar signed an agreement with MSC to charter MSC WORLD EUROPA and MSC POESIA as accommodation vessels for fans attending the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
She is powered by LNG of which it would reportedly allow her to sail with a 99% decrease in sulphur dioxide emissions, 85% decrease in nitric oxide emissions & a 20% decrease in carbon dioxide emissions, when compared with non-LNG-powered ships.
She’s the largest cruise liner in MSC Cruises Fleet and the ninth ship to be homeported at Valletta (MLT Flag).
She left later at 1724 hrs with 5,689 passengers aboard bound to Barcelona, Spain arriving today at 0705 hrs. A rare sight while she was leaving her berth at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves, MSC SEAVIEW was in her backdrop drydocked at Palumbo Malta Shipyard.
Her berth is always Pinto 1 and 2 wharves at Valletta Cruise Port – www.vallettacruiseport.com which they are our SPONSORS too for a lifetime.
