On Wednesday 13th September, 2023 the 1993 built Greek owned with MLT flag tanker ECOMATE entered Grand Harbour, Malta during her maiden call.

She was built in Japan by Kurinoura Dockyard & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. at  Yawatahama with yard number 310 as the Double Hulled tanker SOHWA MARU No.5 launched on 2nd July 1993 and completed on 8th September, 1993.

From 28th May 2009 she was renamed as ORANGE SUN, trading until 26th October 2010 where she was sold to Queensway Navigation, Greece and renamed VEMAOIL XIV.

And since March, 2022 she was renamed ECOMATE by her Greek owners.

Whilst entering she was assisted by the tug SEA SALVOR and berthed at MMH Facilities.

She left Valletta 10 hours later at 1820 hrs assisted by tug SEA SALVOR once again.
