The 2023 year started with a big bang seeing the 2022 built 213.7 metres long semi-submersible heavy load carrier YACHT SERVANT entered Grand Harbour, Malta at 0720 hrs on Monday 2nd January assisted by tug SENGLEA and piloted by the Chief Pilot after he was onboard at 0711 hrs.
She proceeded to Magazine Wharf port side alongside of which at 0820 hrs she was secured. On completion preparations started to start the float on/float off operations and at 0922 hrs her stern door started being lowered.
Around 1300 hrs the YACHT SERVANT was ready for the float on/float off operations and first craft to leave was the 18m x 15m Monohull Self Elevating Platform HAVEN SEAWAY still in Red7Marine livery homeported at Harwich, UK after she was sold to the Maltese Company – Cassar Marine Services.
The barge was assisted by the workboat GEORG (originally a tuna purse seiner skif) in a delicate operation passing a 30.76 metre flat top barge with the 1972 Japanese built floating sheerlegs SEAWOLF II awaiting in the middle of French Creek.
On Completion of barge HAVEN SEAWAY , 2 Catana newbuilt sailing catamaran yachts shifting from Pontoon A at Grand Harbour Marina were the next to enter YACHT SERVANT dock. First to enter was the BALI CATSPACE with 12.31 metres length homeported at San Diego, California and named as CRUISING YATCH.
Following her was the 12.85 metre Bali 4.2 named as CRUISING YACHT 2, also homeported at San Diego, California, USA.
Once the Catana newbuilt sailing catamarans were secured divers went down to secure the boats on their hull hard blocks.
An interesting barge that the YACHT SERVANT was carrying was a 91.72 metre long flat top barge loaded from Fos Sur Mer, France and a former AMT Barge possibly AMT EXPLORER.
Upon completion of all operations , YACHT SERVANT left Grand Harbour, Malta at 2112 hrs bound for Rotterdam, Netherlands.
