The second batch from the 10 Chinese Bottom Trawlers calling at Malta entered on Monday 6th November, 2023.
First to pass breakwater (0741 hrs)was the 2021 built 28.61 metres Bottom Trawler YUAN YU 712 built at Huanghai Shipbuilding Co Ltd in Weihai, China completed on 11th August,2021.
With Radio Callsign as BZV5D and homeported at Qin Huang Dao (CHN) she proceeded to Pinto 1 Wharf.
Second one was the 2021 built 28.61 metres Bottom Trawler YUAN YU 711 passing breakwaters at 0756 hrs. She was also built at Huanghai Shipbuilding Co Ltd in Weihai, China completed on 11th August,2021.
With Radio Callsign as BZV4D and homeported at Qin Huang Dao (CHN) she proceeded to Pinto 2 Wharf astern to 712.
And the third one was the 2021 built 28.61 metres Bottom Trawler YUAN YU 716 passing breakwaters at 0745 hrs. She was also built at Huanghai Shipbuilding Co Ltd in Weihai, China completed on 11th August,2021.
With Radio Callsign as BZV5D and homeported at Qin Huang Dao (CHN) she proceeded to Pinto 2 Wharf astern of 711.
All 3 ships had stores from Salvo Grima and uplifting bunkers by Premier Fuels were done.
Bunkers was completed before noon and it was time that the vessels leave harbour in exchange berth for the last 4 Bottom Trawlers.
First to leave and passed breakwaters at 1148 hrs was the YUAN YU 712 –
Following her was YUAN YU 711 which passed breakwaters at 1151 hrs –
With the last one as YUAN YU 716 which passed breakwaters at 1203 hrs –
All vessels were berthed at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves, part of Valletta Cruise Port.
