On Friday 19th April the 1973 built ore bulk oil (obo) carrier MARINE STAR entered Grand Harbour, Malta berthing at the Tank Cleaning Farm (TCF) Facilities.

She was built in Japan by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries at Yokohama as yard no 934 named as ETERNAL LIGHT with Sanko Line, Japan. She was 237.70 metres as length overall with 36.28 metres beam and 13.40 metres as maximum draft. She had 8 hatches that could hold 40,648 m³ of grain/liquid and 93,373 tons of oil. In 1981 she was sold and renamed as MARIKA P to Hong Kong interests with homeport as Panama (PAN) and later as Valletta (MLT). In 1989 she was bought by V Ships and renamed her as MARINE STAR.

She left Grand Harbour, Malta 2 days later on Sunday 21st April, 1991.
