On Wednesday 4 the February, 2004 the United States Navy Arleigh Burke Class  Guided Missile Destroyer USS BULKERLEY DDG 84 called to Valletta during her maiden call.

The same day two US Navy Grumman C2A Greyhound aircraft from the Fleet Logistics Support(VRC) Squadron 40  embarked on the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS GEORGE WASHINGTON CVN 73 landed at Malta International Airport(MIA) –
