One of the Danish built vessels that used to trade around the Maltese Islands was the 1963 built 25.03 metre fishing vessel SAN NIKOLA.

She was built in Denmark by Marstal Traeskibsverft at Marstal as the SLEIPNIR VE 62 for scampi fishing at Iceland.

In 1996 she was bought to Maltese owners and brought to Malta. She was renamed SAN NIKOLA with fishing matricola as F 283.

During September 1996 the Maltese owners registered within the Fisheries Department. She use to leave Grand Harbour, for fishing grounds from both Oil Wharf as per first image or at Fishmarket.

During 1999 she was spotted at Marsaxlokk Fishport moored to 2 buoys in the middle of the outer area.

In 2010 she was spotted wearing a white livery.

When the Libyan Uprising started on 17th February, 2011 SAN NIKOLA was one of the vessels with both cargo and humanitarian aid.
