The 1968 built ferry MALTA EXPRESS used to call to Malta via Syracuse and Vice Versa, normally entering in early mornings and leaving afternoon berthing at Garden Reach, Vittoriosa, Malta.

Below an extract from the records of 24th July 1976 Arrivals and Departure with 0645 hrs and leaving at 1220 hrs –

She was built in Germany at Bremerhaven by SSW Schichau Seebeck Shipyard with GRT of 6,925 tons as GEDSER until April 1976 where she was renamed as MALTA EXPRESS with her husbandry agent in Malta as Mifsud Bros.
