She was built at Yildirim Shipyard at Istanbul, Turkey as a hull and completed in Spain by Freire Shipyard in Vigo during May 2010 as the diving support vessel VOLSTAD SURVEYOR for the Norwegian Volstad Shipping AS as yard number NB 701.
Freire Shipyard has specialised in building high-spec vessels for a number of years, having evolved from what was primarily a builder of fishing vessels into a fully-fledged builder of OSVs.
With a length overall (loa) of 85.30 metres and a beam of 18 m with a draught of 6.80 m she has a deck area of 550m2 with speed more than 15knots
With her machinery as diesel-electric in the form of a quartet of CAT 3516B engines rated at 1,901kW at 1,800 rpm with DSG 86 M1-4W generators, she had two Ulstein Aquamaster Azipulls, a single Ulstein Aquamaster UL 2001 CP azimuthing thruster and two type TT 2200 SS DPN CP transverse thrusters.
