During 6th December, 2013 upon completion of state tests held in Kronshtadt, VIKTOR KONETSKIY, a rescue tug of Project 745 MBS was commissioned.

She was built by Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant, Central Russia to the design of Vympel Design Bureau OJSC. The vessel was built under the state order for RF Ministry of Defense. The tugboat was designed for escorting and manoeuvring ships, refloating stranded ships, to extinguish fires on stricken ships and onshore facilities, to perform survey using remotely operated underwater vehicle, to evacuate people from the water.

Vessel’s major characteristics: length overall of 56.5 m; beam of 12.64 m; Displacement of 1,390 tons; maximum draught of 4.3 m. Her speed is 14 knots with endurance of 30 days and 22 crew members.

She visited Valletta back to 24th May, 2016.
